About the University:


The Islamic University is a Saudi Arabian government university, under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 1381 A.H, and is a global Islamic institution in terms of its goals, as well as being Saudi Arabian in terms of its establishment.
The University currently has five faculties:
1. Faculty of Islamic Law (Sharee’ah).
It specialises in the subject of Islamic jurisprudence and its principles, and in teaching Islamic studies, as well as various supporting sciences.
The faculty includes the following departments:
A- Department of Jurisprudence (Fiqh).
B- Department of the Principles of Jurisprudence (Usool ul Fiqh).
C- Department of Judging and Islamic Politics.
D- Department of Law
The faculty offers a bachelor’s degree in Islamic law, and a higher diploma in judging and Islamic politics, as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate in its various fields of specialization.
2. Faculty of Islamic Preaching (Da’wah) and Theology (Usool ud Deen).
It specialises in the subject of Islamic creed, and in teaching Islamic studies, as well as various supporting sciences.
The faculty includes the following departments:
A- Department of Creed.
B- Department of Islamic Preaching.
C- Department of Islamic History.
D- Department of Education.
The faculty offers a bachelor’s degree in preaching and theology, and a higher diploma in Islamic preaching, as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate in its various fields of specialization.
3- Faculty of the Holy Quran and Islamic Studies.
It specialises in the subject of Qur’anic sciences, both relating to memorization and interpretation, and in teaching Islamic studies, as well as various supporting sciences.
The faculty includes the following departments:
1. Department of Qur’anic Recitations (Al-Qiraa’aat).
2. Department of Qur’anic Interpretation.
The faculty offers a bachelor’s degree in the Holy Qur’an and Islamic studies, as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate in its various fields of specialization.
4 – Faculty of Prophetic Tradition (Hadith) and Islamic Studies.
It specialises in the subject of the Prophetic tradition (Hadith) and its sciences, and in teaching Islamic studies, as well as various supporting sciences.
The faculty includes the following departments:
1. Department of Jurisprudence of the Sunnah (Fiqh-us-Sunnah) and its sources.
2. Department of the Science of Hadith.
The Faculty offers a bachelor’s degree in Hadith and Islamic Studies, as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate in its various fields of specialization.
5 – Faculty of the Arabic Language.
It specialises in the subject of Arabic language studies, Arabic linguistics & literature, and in teaching Islamic studies, as well as various supporting sciences.
The faculty includes the following departments:
1. Department of Linguistics.
2. Department of Literature & Rhetoric.
6- The Faculty of Science grants the Bachelor's Degree in the following scientific departments:-
a- Department of Mathematics.
b- Department of Chemistry.
c- Department of Physics.
7- The Faculty of Computer and Information System grants the Bachelor's Degree in the following scientific departments:-
a- Department of Computer Science.
b- Department of Information System.
c- Department of Information Technology.
8- The Faculty of Engineering grants the Bachelor's Degree in the following scientific departments:-
a- Department of Civil Engineering.
b- Department of Electrical Engineering.
c- Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The faculty offers a bachelor’s degree in the Arabic language, as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate in its various fields of specialization.
The university is also responsible for the Institute of Arabic Learning for non-Arabic Speakers, the Islamic University High School and Middle School, Dar Al-Hadith of Madinah, and Dar Al-Hadith of Makkah.

Conditions of Admission:

Conditions for students applying for a scholarship:
1.The applicant must be a Muslim male of good conduct.
2.The applicant must pledge to abide by the rules and regulations of the university.
3.The applicant must be medically fit.
4.The applicant must pass such tests and interviews as are determined by the relevant authorities.
5.The applicant must possess a General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or its equivalent, from inside or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
6.The certificate must have been issued by a government school, or a recognized private school.
7.The applicant must be dedicated to full-time study.
8.No more than five years must have passed since being awarded the certificate.
9.The age of the applicant must not exceed twenty five years, upon beginning study.
10.Those who wish to apply to the Faculty of the Holy Qur’aan must have memorized the entire Qur’aan.
11.The applicant must abide by any other conditions defined by the university management.
Notices & Instructions:
1. The university does not have any office or agent anywhere around the world who receives applications on behalf of the university, and the university does not require any form of payment to apply.
2. The applicant must initiate the application process himself, and take responsibility for the reference given to him when completing the application.
3. The Islamic University is an academic & cultural institution designed to convey the message of Islam through its preaching, it's undergraduate & postgraduate tuition, and its academic research; translating and publishing it, as well as taking care of Islamic heritage.
4. Tuition at the university is exclusively in the Arabic language.
5. Applying for enrolment at the university does not imply any commitment on behalf of the university to accept the applicant, until he is notified by the university through receipt of the letter of acceptance.
6. The information submitted by the applicant will not be considered accurate, until proven by attaching supporting documents.
7. Applicants submitting forged documents will be subject to penalties, and their admission will be revoked.
8. The university will determine the capabilities and the appropriate institution of study for those students who are admitted, according to university policy.
9. The accepted student will receive his ticket number from the university website, after which he should consult his local airline office.
10. The accepted student is responsible for being aware of the rules & regulations of the university.
11. All pledges, notices, and warnings, sent electronically to the applicant’s online account should be honored like any other documents; the applicant is responsible for periodic revision of these electronic notices, through the use of his personal username & password. He is also responsible for any electronic transmissions made from his username.
12. All of the pledges, notices, and conditions that have been viewed by the applicant in the process of completing the application form (such as the instructions which the applicant is currently viewing), will be automatically attached to his final submission, in the Arabic language rather than applicant’s own language, and he will be required to abide by them.

Required Documents

Required Documents:
1. High School/GCSE/A-level Certificate.
2. High School/GCSE/A-level Transcript.
3. Testimony of Conduct.
4. Birth Certificate.
5. Passport.
6. Identity Card (where applicable).
7. A Color passport-sized (6x4) Photograph, which must be taken without glasses, against a white background, without covering the head.
8. A medical letter or report, indicating the health of the applicant’s body, his sight and hearing, and lack of infectious diseases. It must be issued by a reliable medical centre.
9. A letter of introduction/recommendation from an Islamic foundation in the applicant’s country of residence, or from two eminent Muslim individuals, testifying with regard to the applicant, his religious devotion and Islamic morals.
10. Certificate of accepting Islam, for those who are not Muslim by birth (if available).
Notices
1. The applicant must scan his original documents, along with their translations, using a scanner, in order to display the documents in their original colors.
2. The applicant must attach the Arabic translation of any document written in other than the Arabic language, preferably attested by a reliable organization.
3. In case of an applicant being granted admission, the accepted student must bring his original documents, attested by the Saudi Embassy. If there is no Saudi Embassy in his country, he should have his documents attested by an authority recognized by the university.
4. In the case of errors in the basic information found on the applicant’s original documents (such as name, date of birth, place of birth, etc.), the applicant must correct such mistakes with the responsible authorities before sending his application, since the University Council forbids the correction of this fundamental information after admission.


How to Apply

If you wish to apply to the Islamic University of Madinah the only way you can apply is by completing an online application on the University’s Admissions Department website.  In the past applications could be submitted in paper form, however the University no longer accepts paper applications.

Currently only brother can apply but a sister College will be opening soon Inshaallah.
  
Advisory Steps for Applying to The Islamic University of Madinah:

1.Decide whether you truly want to study, most westerners will have to dedicate  6+ years of their youth in order to graduate.

2.Pray salatul-Istikharah.

3.Look through the first few pages of the online application without starting an actual application.

4.Get all the documents together that are required.

5.Get two good references and a Testimony of Conduct.

6.Scan all your paperwork and save them as image files (not PDFs) and make sure they are smaller than 1MB each.

7.Get all the document translated into Arabic as required by the University.

8.Once you have all the required paperwork in your possession go to the online application webpage, start in the name of Allah and begin your application.

9. Make sure you complete the application fully within 10 days. You will be given an Application Reference number, make sure you save it and make multiple copies of it.

 You will have 10 days to amend and check your application, after that your application should be sealed and be put forward to the University’s acceptance board Inshaallah.  If you do not complete your application or upload the required paperwork & their translations, your application will remain open until it is completed.  Many brothers started their applications last year long before the cut off date, however they never completed their applications so they are still open and were not sent to the acceptance board for consideration.

10.  If you are able, go to the University itself in Madinah for an interview. An interview is not obligatory but it will make your application considerably stronger.

Is Islamic slaughtering cruel to animals?

Islam's stance on what is permissible to eat and what is not is clear. There are strict rules when it comes to meat regarding what is allowed and what is forbidden.
